2 cattle killed when NH barn roof collapses

BATH, N.H. (AP) — Officials say two cattle were killed and others were injured when a barn roof in New Hampshire collapsed under the weight of heavy snow.

Bath firefighter Gary Gagnon said a dozen cattle were inside a barn at the Roy Farm on Pettyboro Road when the metal roof caved in at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Gagnon said crews from several towns responded to free the animals, but that two of them were killed.

Officials say heavy snows combined with Saturday’s rain have created heavy snow loads on many roofs.
