CONCORD — Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s younger daughter, Arianna, is getting married on Sunday, and, in an interesting twist, the wedding will be officiated by a current U.S. Senator.
No, it won’t be Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, even though the ceremony will be held in Shaheen’s neighborhood – at the Flag Hill Winery in Lee. Shaheen resides in neighboring Madbury.
The wedding will be officiated by Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who said, “I consider it a great honor to have been invited to perform this ceremony, which will join the lives of two special young people.”
Ayotte formally endorsed Brown in his current U.S. Senate bid in May. Ayotte and Scott Brown have been friends since the two served in the Senate together, when Brown represented Massachusetts.
A spokesman for Ayotte said she is a Justice of the Peace and it will be the first wedding she will have officiated.
Brown’s older daughter, Ayla, will be getting married in a few weeks in Nashville, Tenn.
Arianna, 23, and her soon-to-be husband, Jim Hendry, have dated since Hendry interned in Brown’s Senate office.
A representative for the Brown family said Hendry now works in the Department of Justice as a paralegal specialist. Arianna will soon be studying veterinary medicine at Cornell University.
Brown noted on Instagram his daughter’s wedding and the 28th anniversary of his marriage to Gail Huff will be only a day apart.
The family spokesman said Arianna will be wearing her mother’s wedding dress, and even the family dog, Koda, will be dressed for the occasion, wearing a tuxedo to the ceremony.
