Bergeron rolls out more endorsements on eve of GOP vote
NH Journal has learned that Juliana Bergeron will roll out at least nine more significant endorsements from voting members of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee on Friday. Bergeron is in a tight race with Dover’s Jack Kimball to replace Gov. John Sununu as Republican State Chairman.
Those who Bergeron will announce today as supporters are: Coos Co. Sherriff Gerald Marcou, former State Senator Fred King, Merrimack Co. Sherriff Scott Hilliard, State Rep. John Tholl, State Rep. Steve Winter, former Second Congressional District Candidate Grant Bosse,
former Sullivan County GOP Chairman Harry Gale, Jane Hirsch of Manchester and Joe Cartwright of Alstead.
The endorsements move the needle a little further in favor of Bergeron, who already has a small lead over Kimball according to NH Journal’s exclusive canvass of voting members. However – and this is a big caveat – the race belongs to whichever candidate wins over the more than 200 undeclared or undecided voting members at the state GOP meeting in Derry on Saturday. There are still more than enough votes unaccounted for to swing the Chairman’s race toward either candidate.
