Boaters targeted in today’s ‘Maggie’s Tax of the Day’

From last week’s barrage of car-related fees to this morning’s boat registration, it seems that there are no bounds to what Democratic gubernatorial nominee Maggie Hassan is willing to tax.

This morning’s ‘Maggie’s Tax of the Day’ again targets the former state Senator’s 2009 budget. Coming after last week’s documentation of “13 fee increases on motorists,” this morning’s press release from Ovide Lamontagne’s campaign chronicles the doubling of registration fees on New Hampshire boaters. Below are the increased, based on boat length, in full:

from $12 to $24 for boats up to 16′ in length;

from $17 to $34 for boats 16’1″ to 21′ in length;

from $26 to $52 for boats 21’1″ to 30′ in length;

from $35 to $72 for boats 20’1″ to 45′ in length;

and from $46 to $92 for boats 45’1″ in length or longer.
