Perry to send first NH voter contact mail

NH Journal has learned that Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s campaign will be sending out its first batch of voter contact direct mail in New Hampshire early next week; the mailers are expected to reach likely Republican primary voters midweek.

The mailer seeks to introduce Perry to Granite State voters and focuses on his biography. It touts his small-town roots in Texas, service in the Air Force, family values, and reputation as an outdoorsman with photos of a young Perry standing by a horse and the current-day Perry at target practice. The piece reflects Perry’s colloquial style of speaking, stating, “A proven supporter of gun rights and a good shot – that’s Rick Perry.”

The mailer also lists Perry’s high-profile NH endorsements, including former Sen. Gordon Humphrey, former Congressman Chuck Douglas, NH House Deputy Speaker Pam Tucker, and 2010 Republican Gubernatorial nominee John Stephen.

Rick has three very important things to say to you:
    1. Vote for me
    2. Send me money
    3. Um, er, let’s see, uh, …. ooops.
