Brown, Havenstein, Guinta to co-host fund-raiser for Sanborn
CONCORD — Although they may cross each other’s paths sooner, the first scheduled joint appearance of GOP candidate for governor Walt Havenstein and candidate for the U.S. Senate, Scott Brown, will come at an event to benefit one of the most conservative members of the state Senate.
Brown and Havenstein are listed as co-hosts for a May 5 fund-raiser for state Sen. Andy Sanborn, R-Bedford, at the Manchester Country Club. Also listed on the invitation is former U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, who is running again for the 1st District U.S. House seat, and Andy Crews, president and CEO of AutoFair.
Sanborn said he is “excited and gratified” by all of the co-hosts and said it was his understanding that it will be the first time Havenstein and Brown will make a previously scheduled joint appearance.
The appearances should not necessarily be construed as endorsements by him, or of him, Sanborn said.
“We have not had any conversations about an endorsement or mutual endorsement. I want people to be able to have conversations and to show that the Republican Party has great candidates up and down and left and right.
“This was just an opportunity that has come up to get those two, and Frank Guinta, together,” Sanborn said.
Tickets range from $100 per person to $2,000 for a two-person top sponsorship.
