Cornerstone announces new Executive Director

New Hampshire conservative groups Cornerstone Policy Research and Cornerstone Action announced today that Wendy Warcholik has signed on as the organizations’ new Executive Director. Warcholik assumes a role recently vacated by Kevin Smith, who left to run for governor.

Warcholik holds a Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University, and has served as an economist for the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Chief Forecasting Economist for Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services, adjunct scholar with the Tax Foundation, and a Research Fellow for the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.

Cornerstone Chairman of the Board Shannon McGinley released the following statement about Warcholik’s hire: “In my conversations with Wendy over these past couple of months, I have become deeply convinced that her knowledge of the issues and background in promoting key policy ideas make her a perfect fit for advancing Cornerstone’s mission.

“In the months to come, New Hampshire’s legislature will decide on a wide range of issues that will directly impact our lives and families. Wendy is an articulate defender of the sanctity of all human life, the defense of marriage, and to limited government. I have full confidence in her abilities to be an effective advocate for you in Concord.

“Wendy brings to Cornerstone a decade of experience researching and writing on important public policy issues from a traditional conservative perspective.”

Speaking about her move to Cornerstone, Warcholik said, “I am proud to serve as the Executive Director of Cornerstone. I firmly believe that economic solutions alone will not be durable unless they are supported by an American culture with a strong moral foundation—a foundation Cornerstone has sought to build for more than a decade.”

She continued, “The accomplishments of Cornerstone’s board and former Executive Director Kevin Smith show their deep and enduring commitment to faith and to New Hampshire’s families. I look forward to working closely with Cornerstone’s friends and allies to build upon past successes and to serving as an energetic advocate on behalf of New Hampshire’s families.”
