Cruz to appear at Nashua, Manchester NHGOP rallies Saturday

CONCORD – Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has added two rallies for the New Hampshire Republican Party to his schedule for Saturday, April 12.

Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential candidate,  is scheduled to appear at two NHGOP “Day of Action” rallies, in Nashua and Manchester, as he comes to the state to also participate in the “Freedom Summit” cosponsored by the conservative advocacy groups Americans for Prosperity and Citizens United.

Cruz will address a rally at the Nashua City Hall back parking lot at 10 a.m., followed by a rally in Manchester at the Livingston Park poll parking lot at 11 a.m.

According to the NHGOP, the “’Day of Action’ will have Republican activists across the state learning and using new technology to reach out to voters in their communities.  These rallies kick off voter outreach efforts that will take place throughout the day in every county in New Hampshire.”

In a statement to be released later Tuesday by the NHGOP, Cruz calls grassroots activity “a critical part of the effort to turn this country around.”

NHGOP chair Jennifer Horn said Cruz’s “enthusiasm for liberty will energize local New Hampshire grassroots activists during this important election year.  Sending Republicans to Concord and Washington is the only way we will begin to undo the damage done to our country by Democrats,” citing President Barack Obama and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

Also Saturday, Cruz will attend the “Freedom Summit,” a major event at the Executive Court in Manchester also featuring former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul,  outspoken businessman Donald Trump, as well as former House speaker Newt Gingrich, Utah Sen. Mike Lee and New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, among others.
