First “Ovidekill” now @KingOvide
A few weeks ago some clever politico in the Granite State coined the term “Ovidekill” to describe the over-the-top praise some activists, operatives and Republican presidential hopefuls were ladling on popular conservative Ovide Lamontagne.
Now someone has started a Twitter feed under the handle @KingOvide, a mocking reference to the label of “kingmaker” some Washington reporters have bestowed on Lamontagne.
“Lost no less than three Republican primaries, including a 2010 United States Senate primary to Kelly Ayotte last year, now NH kingmaker,” reads @KingOvide’s bio.
As one consultant remarked to NH Journal with a roll of the eyes, “how did we ever run campaigns before fake Twitter feeds?”
