Former N.H. senator Cilley announcing for governor
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A former Democratic state senator is planning to add her name to the growing list of candidates for New Hampshire governor.
Jackie Cilley of Barrington plans to make her announcement Tuesday at the YWCA in Manchester. Cilley joins former state Sen. Maggie Hassan of Exeter in seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination.
Cilley is a veteran of the House and Senate. She spent 20 years teaching business at the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School for business and economics.
Republicans Kevin Smith and Ovide Lamontagne also have announced bids.
They hope to replace Democratic Gov. John Lynch who is not seeking re-election.
