Former VA Gov. Gilmore to make stops in NH this week

Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore will visit New Hampshire tomorrow and Friday for a series of meetings and media interviews as he considers a bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

Gilmore, 65, ran briefly for president in 2007 and has up a leadership political action committee, the Growth PAC, to help elect conservatives across the country that share Gilmore’s pro-growth economic policies.

Gilmore was in New Hampshire last September, and in October, his PAC aired radio ads in New Hampshire, Iowa and Virginia to promote U.S. Senate candidates Scott Brown, Joni Ernst and Ed Gillespie.

Gilmore on Thursday at 9:10 a.m. is scheduled for coffee with a small group of local veterans at the John H. Hargreaves Memorial VFW Post 10722, 6 Main St, Pelham; and on Friday at 10:45 a.m. he is scheduled to make a retail stop at Riley’s gun Shop in Hooksett.

His schedule also includes radio interviews with Karen Testerman and Rick Girard.

Gilmore last weekend was among the many potential Republican presidential candidates who spoke at the Iowa Freedom Summit.
