Hemingway, Smith, Guinta, Garcia win CNHT straw poll

CONCORD — Republican candidates for top offices Andrew Hemingway, Bob Smith, Frank Guinta and Marilinda Garcia were the choices of those who participated in the Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers’ straw poll at its annual Taxpayer Reunion Picnic on Saturday.

The keynote speaker at the event at American Legion Post 59 in Hillsborough was Betsy McCaughey, a former Lieutenant Governor of New York and a regular guest on the Fox News Channel.

CNHT secretary Jane Aitken said all major Republican candidates appeared with the exception of U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown.

Here are the results provided by the CNHT website.

The most lopsided contest was Andrew Hemingway’s win over fellow candidate for governor Walt Havenstein, 111 to 43. The vote was taken the same day a video emerged showing Havenstein four  years ago calling the Tea Party “teabaggers.”
