While several recently released public polls suggest that former Ambassador Jon Huntsman is struggling to connect with voters in New Hampshire, the campaign continues adding to the campaign payroll.
NH Journal has learned that Matt Flanders, former John McCain for President field representative, will join the Huntsman campaign as the New Hampshire Deputy Campaign Manager. Flanders worked on the McCain campaign in 2008 and has since been the state director for ONE. Flanders will join fellow ONE staffer Matt Bartlett who joined the Huntsman campaign three months ago.
Other Huntsman staff in New Hampshire include former Executive Councilor Peter Spaulding, Former New Hampshire Commissioner of Department of Employment Security Richard Brothers, and former Executive Director of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee, and chief of staff to Senator John E. Sununu, Paul Collins. It is unclear who the New Hampshire Campaign Manager will be for the Hunstman campaign.
