Updated: At her request, Guinta will remove Innis supporter Stella Scamman from his TV ad

(Update)

CONCORD – At former state Rep. Stella Scamman’s request, the Frank Guinta campaign will remove her from his first television ad of the campaign.

Scamman supports Guinta 1st district U.S. House GOP primary foe Dan Innis and was unhappy to see that she was included in a on-second snippet in the Guinta ad, chatting happily with Guinta.

After she issued a statement, released by the Innis campaign, asking to be removed from the ad (see below), Guinta campaign spokesman Jay Ruais said:

“Frank respects his friend Stella Scamman, we are in the process of making the change to the ad.”

In an interview, Stella Scamman said the footage was taken in 2012 in Prescott Park in Portsmouth when she endorsed Guinta over Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.

She said removing her from the ad is “the only appropriate thing for them to do.”

CONCORD – A one-second snippet from U.S. House hopeful Frank Guinta’s first television ad of the campaign has a veteran GOP activist and former state lawmaker up in arms.
Stella Scamman endorsed Guinta primary foe Dan Innis in April, but in Guinta’s new ad, she appears – literally for a second — chatting happily with Guinta.
The footage was taken during an earlier campaign.
Now, in a statement released by the Innis campaign, Scamman wants the ad edited to remove her.
In the statement, she said:
“Frank Guinta knows very well that I am a strong 100 percent supporter of Dan Innis for Congress. Using this footage of me from an old campaign ad is inappropriate
“Dan Innis is a solutions-based Republican with a solid business and education background who will use his leadership skills to grow our economy and tackle the challenges we face in Washington. Dan is a fresh voice that our Republican Party needs to win the election in November.
“That is why I am asking Frank to remove me from his advertisement.”
There was no immediate response from the Guinta campaign.

Stella Scamman is the wife of former New Hampshire House speaker Douglas Scamman, who has also endorsed Innis.
