Opinion: Let’s try solutions from the bottom up

Obamacare is the most recent example of the mindset that all good ideas must come from Washington and push them down to the states.  This approach has, for the most part, been a complete failure.  A bottom up approach is an idea whose time has come.  After all, what have we got to lose?

The present debacle of Obamacare is a prime example.  Many people state this program was fashioned after the Massachusetts Plan, but it also was fashioned after the Shaheen Plan.  Remember when Jeanne Shaheen was Governor?  New Hampshire had 22 health care insurance providers.  Once her and her minion passed the present one size fits all insurance, New Hampshire ended up with 2 providers and some of the highest insurance rates in the nation.

With the proper leadership, New Hampshire could start a bottom up approach to health insurance. Let’s fashion health care much like auto insurance.  Let the user pick what they want for coverage.  For example, a middle-aged couple wants catastrophic care with a high deductible of; let’s say $5,000 or $10,000.  Another example is the young couple starting out.  They would want prenatal care, pregnancy, and also catastrophic care with a lesser deductible.  Allow New Hampshire residents to get insurance across state borders.  Let’s really think out of the box and have a free market approach.  Let people shop for the health care they want without a long list of required coverage items like they now exist in Obamacare.

Obama always states the Republicans have not presented an alternative to the complete mess called Obamacare.  The bottom up approach mentioned in the previous paragraph would be a very good start.  Another avenue for the American citizens would be that the 85% who had health care insurance and doctors they were happy with prior to Obama care would be able to go back to the Supreme Court with a very simple challenge.  Obama lied, and the Federal government is mandating what coverage and at what cost Mr. and Mrs. American must buy.  The Government cannot tell the American people what type of insurance they must buy.  The freedom of choice and the pursuit of happiness are very much curtailed by the existing law.  We have nothing to lose except more freedoms.  Someone should pursue this approach.

Just think the other uses of bottom up thinking.  Who knows better what the local schools need.  The local people.  It goes on for almost every aspect of our daily lives.

As mentioned earlier, the present course will destroy the health care in this nation.  Shaheen, Shea-Porter, and Kuster are all on board with Obamacare because they are not required to participate.  Let’s vote them all out and get people who embrace a bottom up solution to health care and every other facet of our daily lives and give them a chance to fix this mess.
