New poll shows tight general election match-ups in both US House districts

DURHAM — The University of New Hampshire Survey Center on Tuesday evening released its latest WMUR Granite State Poll and it showed both incumbent Democrats in tight races regardless of their GOP opponent.

 

In the 1st District, Republican Frank Guinta leads Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, 45 to 41 percent and Shea-Porter leads Republican Dan Innis 44 to 37 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 4.9 percent.

 

In the 2nd District, the poll shows Democratic U.S. Rep. Ann Kuster leading Republican Marilinda Garcia 39 to 36 percent and Kuster leading Republican Gary Lambert 41 to 35 percent. The poll has margin of error of 4.7 percent.

 

Polling in each district took place Aug. 7 to 17 and included 397 residents of the 1st District and 430 residents of the 2nd District.
