NHJournal.com was only fifteen days old when December came to a close, but the site had already attracted more monthly traffic than all but two other New Hampshire news sites receive in any given month, an internal analysis shows. Only WMUR.com and UnionLeader.com receive more traffic.
NH Journal received 224,230 unique visits between December 16, when the site launched publicly, and December 31.
By contrast, the website for the Concord Monitor, for example, never received more than 180,000 unique visits during a single month in 2010.
The websites for WMUR and the New Hampshire Union Leader maintain robust readership. WMUR.com attracted 432,250 visitors in the month of November and UnionLeader.com attracted 309,484.
For the purposes of this analysis, we used the public web analytic tool at compete.com to measure monthly traffic of all sites except NH Journal. The most recent complete data available from Compete.com was from November. NH Journal is still too new to have been indexed on compete.com so we used our own Google Analytics data. For this analysis, we looked at WMUR.com, UnionLeader.com, SeaCoastOnline.com, NashuaTelegraph.com, Fosters.com, Citizen.com.
