NHGOP plans two-day presidential ‘summit’ in April

The New Hampshire Republican Party on Wednesday announced it is inviting all potential GOP presidential candidates to a “First in the Nation Republican Leadership Summit” to be held in Nashua on April 17 and 18.

NHGOP chair Jennifer Horn called it an opportunity for potential presidential candidates to meet more than 600 activists, who are expected for the event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. She called it an “exciting kick-off to what’s going to happen over the next year.”

The NHGOP announced the event to the Washington Post after it was first reported by Primary Digest. Horn told the Post several potential candidates have already committed to attend.

One likely future candidate who has committed is former New York Gov. George Pataki. A Pataki campaign adviser confirmed his appearance  to the New Hampshire Journal on Wednesday night.

The event is also a fundraiser for the party. According to a new website set up by the party for the event, tickets range from $99 to $199.
