NRCC targets Shea-Porter with Obamacare radio ad

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched a radio ad this week highlighting first district Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter’s support for ObamaCare, focusing on President Obama’s now-debunked promise that Americans could keep their current healthcare plans if they liked them. That promise has proved false and tens of thousands of Granite Staters have been dropped from their policies.

Compounding dissatisfaction with Obamacare is the news that over a third of New Hampshire hospitals are excluded from ObamaCare’s exchanges, making it more difficult for citizens – particularly in rural areas of the state – to find a plan that is both affordable and allows them to easily access healthcare providers.

“ObamaCare has made getting quality healthcare harder for New Hampshire families,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “In spite of the canceled plans, Carol Shea-Porter has been one of the law’s biggest supporters—at the expense of the Granite State.”

WOMAN: “My husband’s been pretty sick for the last couple years.

WOMAN: It’s been tough on the kids, having him in and out of the hospital, but he’s starting to get better. The doctors over there have been life savers. And we allowed ourselves some hope again.

WOMAN: That all changed when I got a letter from our insurance company.

WOMAN: Because of ObamaCare, our health plan no longer exists. And our new policy doesn’t cover the hospital where my husband was being treated.

WOMAN: Different hospital, different doctors – during all this?

WOMAN: I’m scared for him. And for the kids.

VOICEOVER: Over a third of New Hampshire’s hospitals aren’t covered through ObamaCare.

VOICEOVER: That’s not what the President – and Carol Shea-Porter – promised.

VOICEOVER: Call Shea-Porter at 202-225-5456. Tell her, New Hampshire families deserve better.
