Opinion: Is Homosexual Marriage the Last Straw for the GOP?

Karl Rove recently said in regards to homosexual marriage, ‘I could see a GOP candidate supporting it in 2016.”

This statement is very damaging and actually helps the Democrats as he and other Republican establishment strategists (the Masters of Deceit) sow confusion and obfuscate the issue politically.

Let me make the bold prediction that if the GOP embraces homosexual marriage it will be its death nail. It is the final “straw to break the camels back” of its core constituencies. It is a stake through the heart of the family and thereby our country.

Legitimizing homosexual marriage will force people of faith to leave the Republican Party in droves. It is a non-negotiable issue that transcends politics.

That is a harsh statement for some to accept such as sophisticated politicos like Karl Rove. It is easy to demean and trivialize people of faith. But we see very clearly the stakes regarding homosexual marriage.

As Pope Francis said when he was the Cardinal Archbishop of Buenos Aires in his fight against the Kirchner government’s push for homosexual marriage, “Let’s not be naïve, we’re not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God…we are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a move by the Father of Lies which aims to confuse and deceive the children of God.”

The Republican Party is already in a precarious state and the Masters of Deceit should read the tea leaves very carefully.

The Tea Party was the first full frontal assault on the Republican establishment from within. It was a reaction to the binge spending by a Republican President (George W. Bush) and Republican controlled Congress.

It was political revulsion of the wholesale looting of our nation by the economic elites at the Federal Reserve (Ben Bernanke) and on Wall Street (Hank Paulson, Robert Rubin, George Soros, et al). Less we forget, which none of us have on the right, it was George W. Bush who started the looting that Barak Obama put on steroids.

The Republican Masters of Deceit are foolhardy to deemphasize and suppress the discussion of social issues such as homosexual marriage. This plays into the hands of the Democrats, whose strategy is to divide and conquer.

As long as the Democrats can prevent the natural constituencies from uniting – gun rights advocates, pro-life/pro-family, and small business — they will stay in power as the Republican Party morphs into a Democrat Party “Lite”.

Karl Rove and the Masters of Deceit reject the notion that economic, social, political and religious life is interconnected while the Democrats have actually espoused that very effectively.

The problem is that Democrats advocate a Godless agenda based on the platitudes of a secular humanism. Socialism? Fascism? Communism? The end result of banishing God from the public sphere always ends the same – the destruction of society.

The political situation is ripe for a Party, whether it is the Republicans or a successor Party to pick up the mantle and articulate a clearly defined, all encompassing, political vision for America based on its Judeo-Christian roots as envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

    Hey Paul –
Why have the religious folk in the Republican Fold staked their claim that government should be involved at all in the marriage business, and do so to the exclusion of others? Seems y’all have been staking out special favors and now you’re raising a stink when others want in on Grate State recognition via licensing of their “special re-la-tion-ships”. You guys and gals cooked up this stew, now sit in it … unless you’re willing to let go the special privileges, rites, and honors appertaining thereto?
