Pelosi to headline NHDP’s annual McIntyre-Shaheen ‘100 Club’ Dinner

U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will be the keynote speaker at a major state Democratic Party event in May.

Pelosi is headlining the NHDP’s 2015 McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on May 3 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Manchester, party chairman Raymond Buckley announced Wednesday. It will mark Pelosi’s first visit to the state since 2007, when she campaigned in Portsmouth for then-U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.

The 100 Club is one of two major state Democratic fundraising events held each year. Last fall, prior to the midterm election, former President Bill Clinton keynoted the party’s annual “Jefferson-Jackson” event, also at the Radisson in Manchester.

Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House and the first woman to serve in that position, has been in the House, representing San Francisco, since 1987. She was speaker from 2007 to 2011.

Buckley said in an email announcement she “has led the fight for many of the causes we hold so dear — expanded affordable health care, clean energy, investments in higher education, and civil and human rights across the globe.”

Chairing this year’s dinner will be another former speaker – former New Hampshire Speaker of the House Terie Norelli, who is now retired from the House, as well as former state Senate President Sylvia Larsen, state Rep. Tom Sherman, D-Rye, and state Sen. Dan Feltes, D-Concord.

The McIntyre-Shaheen dinner is named for the late U.S. Sen. Tom McIntyre and current Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

Tickets for the event range begin at $75-a-person, and are $350-a-person to attend a VIP reception. Higher levels of participation range from $1,000 to $10,000-a-person.
