Primary Superhero: Amherst Boy Queries Seven Candidates

Nine year old Ari Garnick of Amherst has managed to meet seven presidential candidates this cycle, which is more than most adults can say. But in true New Hampshire primary tradition, Ari wasn’t satisfied with just a handshake. He had a question to ask each of them:

“If you could be any superhero, which one would you be?” the future voter wanted to know. Demonstrating grit and determination, the mop-headed lad managed to get in front of seven candidates – Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry – and ask his question.

Responses range from bemused (Gingrich) to earnest (Santorum). His exchange with Perry even made Meet the Press. Missing? Michele Bachmann, of course. The film suggests maybe she’s playing the role of Invisible Woman.

Congratulations, Ari! You are a Primary Superhero.
