Santorum announces NH Advisory Committee

Likely Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum released the names of two prominent Granite State Republican activists, former Manchester GOP Chair Jerry Thibodeau and State Rep. Dan Tamburello, who are serving as advisers to his America’s Foundation PAC. The former Pennsylvania Senator has gone the farthest of any potential candidate toward building a campaign infrastructure in the Granite State, having earlier announced veteran NH operative Mike Biundo as his State Director and Clara Monier as his State Chairwoman.

Santorum Announces New Hampshire Advisory Committee Members for America’s Foundation

Washington, DC – Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced today that former Manchester GOP Chair Jerry Thibodeau and State Representative Daniel Tamburello will serve as volunteer Advisory Committee Members for America’s Foundation in New Hampshire. This advisory committee will help inform Senator Santorum and America’s Foundation on the concerns and issues important to New Hampshire families. Additional Advisory Committee Members will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Jerry Thibodeau is the past chairman of the Manchester Republicans and currently serves as the finance chair for both the Pemi-Baker Valley and Grafton GOP committees. As Manchester GOP Chair, he organized a well-regarded fundraising and grassroots effort to help re-elect then-Mayor Frank Guinta to his second term. Jerry attended the University of New Hampshire and served in the United States Air Force. He is a member of the Pemigewasset Valley Fish & Game Club of Holderness, NH and served on the Rumney School Board.

“Rick Santorum is quickly becoming the hardest working potential 2012 candidate in New Hampshire. His stances on the issues and willingness to fight for what he believes in is what attracted me to this effort. We made some great strides in 2010 but there is much work to be done. I look forward to working with the Senator and America’s Foundation,” Thibodeau said.

Dan Tamburello was elected to the New Hampshire House last November to represent Londonderry and Auburn. He ran on a platform of traditional values, lower taxes and government accountability. Prior to his election to the NH State House, Tamburello served many years on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. He is currently employed full time as a Systems Engineer and continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves.

“In an era of sound bite politics and a say-anything-to-get-elected attitude, it is refreshing to see a national leader talking from the heart. We are at an important crossroads in our nation’s history, and now more than ever we need accountable leaders that are not afraid to speak the truth and stand-up for what they believe in. Rick Santorum is a straight talker who has a history of working hard for conservative causes, and I want to be a part of that,” Tamburello said.

“I am thrilled to have Jerry and Dan as part of my PAC’s leadership team in New Hampshire. Their backgrounds and commitment to the conservative cause will be critical as I continue down the path exploring a run for president in 2012. I am encouraged by the strong support we are receiving from party activists and elected officials across the Granite State, and I look forward to working closely with Jerry and Dan in the months ahead,” said Santorum.

Earlier this year, America’s Foundation announced that campaign veteran Mike Biundo is serving as the PAC’s State Director and conservative activist Claira Monier is serving as PAC Chairwoman in New Hampshire.
