Shaheen bests Brown and Bradley in early poll

A Dartmouth College poll, released last Friday, puts incumbent Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen in a strong position for re-election next year, with her leading two potential opponents by double digits.

Though early, the survey put Shaheen up on former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown by a margin of 44-30 percent. The former Bay State senator, bested by Elizabeth Warren in 2012, owns a summer home in Rye and isn’t ruling out mounting a campaign in the Granite State. The Nashua Telegraph’s report of the poll noted that last week saw him schedule half a dozen visits.

Former Congressman and current state Senate Majority Leader Jeb Bradley has also been exploring his prospects for a 2014 statewide effort. The Dartmouth poll had Shaheen besting him by a wider margin, 48-25 percent.
