New Hampshire’s senior Senator Jeanne Shaheen failed to attract the respect and attention of any of her colleagues Monday when she was chosen to conduct the ceremonial 150th reading of George Washington’s Farewell Address.
“Not a single senator was present on the chamber floor,” reports the Hill Newspaper.
Sources in Washington, DC tell NH Journal that Shaheen’s blatant politicization of the event turned her colleagues off.
Shaheen, who is using an Obama administration’s unpopular health insurance conscience mandate to divide Americans along gender lines, made an extra effort to point out that she is the first woman to read the Address since 1998.
In a statement, Shaheen said she was “humbled” to read the Address.
No kidding. So now is the state she represents.
