In a calmly worded blog post that nevertheless betrays a certain level of frustration in NHGOP Chairman Jack Kimball, New Hampshire Union Leader editorial page editor Drew Cline writes that the new chairman’s recent actions demean his office. Cline also compares Kimball to Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley.
Cline is specifically referencing Kimball’s counter attack against leftwing blogger “Susan the Bruce” who had harsh things to say about Republican lawmakers on the liberal blog BlueHampshire.com.
“I think it demeans the office of party chairman to even acknowledge StB’s post. Just ignore it. But it’s going way too far to call for her to be removed from the site. That’s venturing into Ray Buckley territory,” Cline writes. “Buckley, a master of the politics of personal destruction, pretends to be offended by any comments by a Republican that he can portray as offensive. He then uses them to call for the Republicans resignation/denunciation/removal from political life. It s a cheap and tawdry game, and New Hampshire Republicans should refuse to play it.”
