NH Journal received reports this afternoon that Bedford High School and Lurgio Middle School were placed on lock down as state and local police searched the schools.
Multiple reports were swirling around this affluent, bedroom community on the outskirts of Manchester that police K-9 units were used during the search.
An eye witness saw a Bedford police officer turn away a car attempting to access the school’s driveway to, allegedly, pick up a student saying, “you’ll have to come back after school.”
A report from Bedford Patch says a police captain cited “numerous threats made against Bedford schools.” According to that report, police do not believe the threats are credible.
Bedford Police have confirmed to NH Journal that threats were made. Police will remain on scene at both the middle school and high school to ensure the safety of both campuses.
